Did you remember your plutonium? Are you ready to begin? We have the time circuits set and are ready to go 88mph all the way into the future! Our destination, Hersheypark in July of 1997!

Now, for those who have been stopping by regularly, you will know that we are in the middle of our analysis of the Hersheypark characters from conception to the present day.

Today we will begin with how the core three characters used today (Hershey, Reese's, and Hershey's Kiss) looked in 1997. Here is how they look today in 2012 in both cartoon and costume form and here is how Hershey and Reese looked in 1993

A look at Version 2 of these characters starts now!

Up first is Mr. Hershey!

Similar to his 1993 self, but a few differences!
-Square googly-eyes became round flat ones
-A more Muppet like nose that sticks out instead of being flat
-Backwards hat that says Hershey's (which obviously ups his cool factor significantly)
-White eyebrows
-Less wrapper foil and no peeled paper

It's important to note that in this revision he retained his breakable pieces of his chocolate bar self. His current version does not have any breakable pieces and is one solid bar.

Up next is a character who saw a much more noticeable deal of change from Version 1 to Version 2, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!

Some big differences from the 1993 version:
-A less rounded and girlish figure, this version is more rectangular like the actual packaging
-Freckles and new non-googly eyes
-Less but larger and more defined ridges to the paper part of the cup
-A much better face!

What a world of difference four years and a new version makes! Version 1 was showing its age by 1993 and was definitely beginning to look a little dated and out of style. This version (Version 2) brings a lot more of the cute factor to the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup costume.

And our sendoff for today is of one I did not have any 1993 pictures of, Hershey's Kiss!

The current Reese's and Kiss are a little more gender neutral than these two distinctively female costumes.

Well folks, that wraps things up for today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for some more shots of the Version 2 Hersheypark characters.

If you happen to have an image of the Hershey's Kiss from 1993 be sure to let us know in the comments!

Thank you as always for stopping by!
